Scanners operate in industrial and other hardcore environments and pick up their fair share of dirt. This can lead to performance shortfalls. Although barcode scanning is an amazing automation tool it can’t perform its daily miracles if it is not kept clean. For traditional scanners this means regular servicing and cleaning, particularly of the laser lens surface. When scanning with a smartphone the same applies and it is crucial that the camera lens remains clean and clear of grease and grime. Get your grubby paw prints off the lens – OFF!
