In Chicago, local activists want Congress to pass a law requiring gun and ammunition manufacturers to imprint barcodes on bullets. They believe it would be an effective way to use technology to reduce incidents of violent crime. They say barcode imprints would make it easier for law enforcement officials to track the source of bullets used in violent crimes and could also help lead to the arrest of criminals.
Of course it would make it easier! That’s what barcodes do; they make things easier….and better and more accurate and more efficient and are just amazing.
